POSITION OVERVIEW

The Webaspx Developer will work in a global software company, primarily within our York office (with some remote working) providing support and/or lead software development expertise for several Webaspx products. The developer will respond to the Head of Engineering in York but will be part of a wider team based in York, Portland Oregon (USA), Jacksonville (USA) and Toronto (Canada). As such, they may be expected from time to time to work with other engineers in different locations. Within the engineering team a developer will be expected to develop fully formed applications or specific features. They will support customer implementation via appropriate documentation. Within the operations team a developer will create automated testing routines and provide front line issue/bug resolution where appropriate. The developer will also develop automated service verification software as well as systems to streamline installations.

Specifically, the developer will:

  • Use C# in Microsoft Visual Studio to deliver new software or software features
  • Write easy to maintain, well documented code
  • Maintain code in Bitbucket
  • Create interfaces that adhere to Webaspx house style
  • Accurately gather customer requirements for specific features
  • Work with the customer to identify and bridge gaps in their current working practices
  • Provide quality, easy to use software
  • Correct bugs in their own and other developers’ code
  • Assist in maintenance of software user guides
  • Assist in Software QA and Testing

REQUIRED

  • Software engineering experience
  • Experience with .NET, C#, JavaScript
  • Team player with ability and willingness to collaborate across multiple projects
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on whatever is required; being a medium sized company, we wear multiple hats
