Role:

Based in York, you will be working with a diverse UK and North American team, developing and supporting our optimisation and modelling technology. You will also be involved in the development of automated tools for intelligent analysis of logistical problems. You will collaborate with our group CTO to devise and implement novel solution algorithms ensuring quality and maintainability of software via appropriate design and testing methodologies. You will support and enhance our existing optimisation software solutions and work with clients to resolve specific issues. You will benefit from our deep expertise in the field. We have ambitions for the right candidate to provide our fast-growing group with a leader in the field of optimisation, modelling and wider mathematical analysis.

Requirements:

  • Outstanding record of academic achievement, likely to have an MSc or PhD in Applied Mathematics or Numerical Analysis or Computer Science with a good understanding of operations research algorithms; heuristic search techniques; geo-spatial analysis; data-driven modelling or machine learning; algorithm development
  • Combine academic excellence with an ability to model practical, real-world problems
  • Commercial C# development experience
  • Collaborative; keen to learn and share ideas
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues and with customers
